Dear Family and Friends,
Please yarp for one of my students and his family. Yesterday evening my student, Joshua, was accidentally shot in the eye at point blank (6 in.) range by a BB gun, in the pupil of his eye. Early this morning he was evacuated to Frankfurt, Germany, accompanied by his parents, to receive testing, treatment, and likely surgery. The latest report that I received was late this afternoon from his parents. He has undergone a second round of tests specifically to examine his retina, since the first round was unsuccessful due to the amount of blood. These second tests showed some good news. One of the concerns was that there was deflation of something, but it appears to be ok! PTL! Another praise is that Joshua has been in very little pain the last 12 hours and that has been easily relieved by tylenol. That was all that was known at the last update. Still no news on whether or not he needs surgery and whether or not he will lose any eyesight.
Please yarp for Joshua. Yarp for his eye to be healed and yarp for him to sense G's presence and G's peace. Yarp for him to trust G's plan for him. Yarp for wisdom for the doctors, that they will know what to do and have the skill and resources to do it. Yarp for his parents; that they will trust G, that G will give them wisdom in making decisions, and that G will give them his peace. Yarp for G to provide the parents with accommodations while staying in Frankfurt, and that G will work out the insurance. Yarp for the two brothers who are staying with a family here in Kazakhstan. Please yarp especially for the youngest brother who is in 2nd grade and having a hard time with this. Please yarp for my class as they are having a hard time coping. Yarp that they would learn to trust G through this. And thank G for these students who love each other like brothers and sisters and care deeply about one another. Finally, please yarp for me. Yarp that G would give me wisdom as I try to help my students work through this. Yarp that I would give them the love, patience, and guidance that they need.
Thank you for lifting these things up.
For His Glory,
Elicia
